Boulby Underground Laboratory, situated 1.1km below ground in the Boulby Mine, is the UK’s deep underground science facility. It offers a unique environment for ultra-low background and deep underground science projects, shielded from natural background radiation.
The lab supports a diverse range of studies, including Particle Physics, Earth and Environmental science, Biology/Astrobiology, and Planetary Exploration Technology Development.
